Meet the Doctor

Jacqueline BockDr. Jacqueline Bock is a Native Alaskan and the daughter of homesteaders who arrived in Alaska before statehood. She is a life-long learner who holds 2 bachelor’s degrees, 2 master’s degrees one in counseling and the other in special education, a PhD in Clinical Psychology with a dissertation on the long-term outcomes of traumatic brain injury sustained in childhood. Her formal Post-Doctoral training and Certification is in Neuropsychology. She is a licensed psychologist in the State of Alaska and a certified special education teacher, with extensive experience in developmental disorders, the effects of prenatal exposure to alcohol, and brain injury.

In her private clinical practice focusing on Neuropsychology, Dr. Bock conducts evaluations of adults, youth, and children with a variety of developmental, degenerative, and acquired disorders including concussion and traumatic brain injury, learning disorders, ADHD, dementia, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), Autism and other Pervasive Developmental Disorders, cognitive and behavioral effects of medical disorders, personality and emotional functioning.

Dr. Bock’s unique professional interests are in Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and Aviation Psychology; she has received additional specialized training in these areas. Dr. Bock attended training on FASD at the University of Washington Fetal Alcohol and Drug Unit, and she has participated on the Central Peninsula Fetal Alcohol Diagnostic Team since 2001. With regard to aviation, Dr. Bock trained via the Human Intervention Motivation Study (HIMS) program to provide evaluations of private and commercial pilots.

In addition to teaching special education in Alaska’s public schools, Dr. Bock has taught bachelors, masters, and doctoral level courses in psychology. Currently, she is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Alaska Kenai River Campus. She is a current member and the past President of the Frontier Community Services Board of Directors. Dr. Bock is a member of the National Academy of Neuropsychology; she is a lifetime member of Psi Chi – National Honor Society for Excellence in Academics and Research in Psychology.
